Kathleen's BMT 2 Diary: The Second Transplant
Kathleen's Diary:
April 23, 2002

BMT + 21

The nights are the worst for Robert. He has been having low grade fevers, high respiratory rates, high heart rate and he sounds very uncomfortable while asleep. He looked better this morning than last night and tonight. Mark said his last diaper was very full of blood so he wanted them to check Robert's counts before they start the TPA. I had to stop writing for a half hour while I changed two bloody diapers. It is almost midnight and I am waiting for those results. Of the four critical numbers we are tracking, three out of the four are slightly better today.

Dr. Menzer was the attending today and he said he was cautiously optimistic about Robert's outcome.
