The International Society for Mannosidosis & Related Diseases
(ISMRD) is proud to announce the 2nd International
Conference on Glycoprotein & Related Storage Diseases in
Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA, July 26-28, 2007.
A parallel scientific-clinical
and family conference will be presented on nine very rare Lysosomal
Storage Diseases including: Alpha-Mannosidosis, Beta-Mannosidosis,
Aspartylglucosaminuria, Fucosidosis, Galactosialidosis, Mucolipidosis
II & III, Schindler Disease and Sialidosis.
This exciting event
will continue the successful strides made at focusing on Glycoprotein
Storage Diseases on an International platform.
The purpose of this
event is to recognize progress in research/clinical science in these
nine diseases and to foster and provide opportunites for collaboration
among Lysosomal Diseases around the world.
ISMRD's primary mission
has always been two-fold: to support families throughout the world
affected by a Glycoprotein & Related Storage Disease, and to
promote opportunities to further scientific and clinical understanding
of the underlying mechanisms resulting in these diseases.
In our
view, the ultra-orphan nature of these disorders requires a synergy
between both aspects of this mission if therapies and treatments
are ever to occur.
