Log 3

June 16, 1999

From: "Smith, Dianne" <Dianne.Smith@mpls.frb.org>

Jenny has been through so much this past week. The chemotherapy and total
body radiation have been administered and are working to destroy her stem
cells. Jenny has managed to maintain a positive attitude, but she is
starting to feel quite uncomfortable. We're thankful that tomorrow is the end of these treatments. Jenny will receive the bone marrow transplant around
midnight tomorrow. From what others have told us, (although no two people are the same) the next 6-7 weeks will be difficult; but Jenny should get better after that....and have a long life ahead of her.

If you'd like to send her a note of encouragement and support, her address
is: Fairrview University Medical Center
c/o Jenny Smith Unit 4A Room 205
Minneapolis, Mn 55455
Phone in her room: (612) 273-0222

Jenny is decorating one of the walls in her room with posters and colored
pictures. If you have young children, have them color a picture and send it
to Jenny--she'd love it!

Please keep us in your prayers, especially tomorrow--we need this transplant
to be 100% successful.
